(Jumping Trout, LLC 2020) A lot happened over the weekend. Some good, some bad. Here's some of the top headlines you might have missed.

1. Chadwick Boseman dies from colon cancer
After a four year fight with colon cancer, actor Chadwick Boseman passed away on Friday night. Chadwick's mark as an actor was important as a black actor playing roles that identified struggles and broke barriers for people of color. One of the most notable roles for Boseman was as Black Panther in the Marvel series. As one of the first black superheroes on the big screen, the entire movie was groundbreaking as a main blockbuster in the Marvel Universe - casted with an almost entirely black cast. Boseman had been fighting colon cancer since 2016, when he was first diagnosed as stage III. Only those closest to him knew he was sick, which has brought up important topics about colon cancer within minorities. You can here more about this story here.

2. There's a robotic arm that looks more like an arm than traditional prosthetics
TrueLimb robotic arms look real and cost less that traditional prosthetics. Using a customized, 3D scanner, candidates can scan their arm at home. Traditionally, fitting into a prosthetic limb can cost around $80K. TrueLimb $8K, because you don't have to get fitted by a person.

3. Elon Musk shows Neuralink brain implant working in a pig
Neuralink is Elon Musk's start up that's trying to to directly link brains to computers. They've developed a system to feed thousands of electrical probes into a brain. Not sure what the point of this would be, other than to prove that technology can do anything... but the process includes drilling tiny holes in the brain and insert super small electrodes called threads. (Um, no thanks). Apparently, they've tested this tech on a pig. It showed the brainwaves - the hope is that humans will be able to use this to control computers with their minds. Crazy right? You can learn more about that technology here.

4. Google launches a kid-friendly space
As children are spending more time online, it's important to generate content that's geared towards - and safe - for children. Google has often been critized in the past for how it handles kid content, so they've lauched a space called Kids Space. It's a hub for child-friendly apps and video content. All apps and videos are "teacher approved", and it also includes over 400 books onine. The launch couldn't have come at a better time since many kids have started school at home, and need to ingest more educational content. Right now, the hub is only available on Android tablets.

5. Amazon introduces a new grocery store
Amazon Fresh is a new store from Amazon for groceries. Like a traditional supermarket, but with high tech shopping carts and Alexa as a shopping assistant. The first location opened on Thursday in Woodland Hills, CA on an invite only basis. The general public will have access to the store in a few weeks. Amazon plans to open five more locations including Chicago and Los Angeles. You can view the pictures here
