(CNET 2020) On Thursday, Facebook said that it removed more than a dozen fake accounts and pages, tied to an infamous Russian troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency, that posted news stories.

The network was on FB for about 3 months before the accounts were deleted. The FBI tipped FB to the findings of Russian-linked accounts. These accounts mislead users on their identity and purpose, which is what makes them so dangerous.

Have you ever gotten a friend request from someone you've never heard of? Well if you accept it for some reason, you'd find that these accounts post news stories on Donald Trump, QAnon, adn Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' campaign to defeat Trump.

These accouns use fake pictures and pose as news editors, spreading actual fake news to FB. In an election year, there's no denying that fake news accounts designed to misinform US FB users is a bad thing.

Always make sure you question every news source you see. Do your part and research for the truth, check your sources.
