COVID has done alot of things this year. Now that we're in the holiday season, people are wanting to shop. What else is there to do amirite? With all these early Black Friday deals, it can be tempting to shop at the big box stores. But what about the little guys? Local stores need our help now more than ever, and we've made a list that will help you discover and navigate through the local jungle. Plus - they'll be unique gifts that the entire family would love.

Disclaimer: This is not a list of ALL stores, just the ones I know about. Feel free to add some to the list!

1. Primitive & Proper | $$
This hodgepodge store of home decor has the best finds that would make any HomeGoods fanatic swoon. Head here to find some neat home decor with a farmhouse/cottage vibe.

2. Secondhand Curves | $
Tired of boutique stores not having your size? This great Rockford gem has secondhand clothes for plus size ladies. Prices are great, and the styles are better - they have plenty of accessories too. Pssst. they're opening a store in the Chicagoland area 2021!

3. Ackermans Shoes | $$-$$$
If you happen to find a shoe store in the weird courtyard of the Edgebrook shops, you should go in. This store has the nicest owners who measure your feet and find your true shoe size. They also have Birkenstocks at decent prices.

4. Porch | $$-$$$
This store is well known as the fancy store that older women go to after going out to lunch. That being said, they've established themselves as the spot for unique and fun home decor items like plates, cups, fun wine glasses, and kitchen towels with funny jokes and prints.

5. Bath & Body Fusion | $-$$
If you're looking for some stress relief this year, or want to gift some stress-relief to someone else, Bath & Body Fusion has bathbombs in yummy scents, scrubs, and lotions. You can make it yourself or pick up some already made.

6. Toad Hall | $-$$$
This store is very overwhelming, but if you go and are prepared to spend the entire day browsing records, it can be therapeutic. Records, CDs, equipment and accesories - this store has everything for the music buff in your family.

These are just six of some really good stores that you may have never heard of. We'll release more stores for your holiday shopping list next week!
